SPOT GUIDE

The West Kirby Marine Lake, also known as the West Kirby Sailing Lake, is a man-made saltwater pool located in the town of West Kirby, England.

You’ll see from the YouTube video(s) that there’s a thriving winging community in West Kirby and a very high standard of riding.

The Wingers of West Kirby appear to be the best ‘cold water prepared’ of all spots reviewed by Wingfoilguide with the highest dry:wet suit ratio at this latitude.

The lake is popular among windsurfers and wingfoilers as it offers consistent wind and flat water conditions. The lake is located on the coast and is fed by the tide, which helps to keep the water clean and clear.

It is 52 acres in size, 5 foot deep and totally enclosed, making it an exceptionally safe facility.  Perfect for learning/beginners with its flat water and clean wind.

The lake is considered one of the best spots for wing foiling in the UK.

It is important to note that the lake is a controlled area, with access to the lake is limited to members and guests of the West Kirby Sailing Club, and the West Kirby Watersports Centre.
